Questions schools ask

Before you try it

How does M-Pesa matching work?

Paste or open the M-Pesa statement. Each payment is matched to its learner by the admission number in the account reference, and anything that does not match is listed for the bursar to place by hand.

Can we see who owes what?

Yes. The arrears list shows every learner with a balance, by class, including balances brought forward from the previous term.

Are receipts numbered?

Yes, automatically. Only the head teacher can void a receipt, and every change is recorded in the activity log with who made it.

Can parents check their balance?

Yes, if the school switches on the parent portal. A parent enters the admission number and a PIN to see the balance.

Does the bursar see marks?

No. The bursar role covers learners and fees only, with no access to marks.
