KCSE grading and report forms for Forms 3 and 4

The last 8-4-4 classes keep their KCSE grades. Msingi grades every CAT and exam from A to E with points out of 12, works out each learner’s mean grade, and prints the report form and merit list alongside your CBE classes.

Questions schools ask

Before you try it

Which grades and points does it use?

The twelve grades from A to E, with points from 12 down to 1, and a mean grade worked out from the points. A school can adjust the boundaries to match its own internal grading.

Is this KNEC’s own KCSE grading?

No. KNEC grades the national exam against tables it publishes after each sitting. Msingi grades the school’s own CATs and exams, using the cut points schools calibrate against.

Can it print a merit list?

Yes. KCSE classes are ranked, with a merit list across the whole form and each stream’s results beside it.

Can CBE and KCSE classes share one system?

Yes. Each grade uses its own scale, so junior and senior school use CBE levels while Forms 3 and 4 use KCSE grades, side by side.

What happens when the last Form 4 class leaves?

Their records stay in Msingi, with their KCSE grades, for as long as the school keeps them.
