Questions schools ask
Before you try it
How is the aggregate worked out?
From the grades of the four PLE subjects: English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. In P1 to P3 it uses English, Mathematics, and Literacy I and II. The division follows from the aggregate.
Can one report card show BOT, MOT and EOT?
Yes. The beginning, mid and end of term exams sit side by side, each with its own aggregate, and the term has one too.
Does it give positions?
Yes, for primary classes. Positions follow the aggregate, lowest first. A learner who missed a paper gets no aggregate rather than a failing one.
What about secondary classes?
S1 to S4 are graded A to E as the new lower secondary curriculum does, with positions off by default. S5 and S6 add up UACE points out of 20.
Are the mark ranges UNEB’s?
UNEB does not publish its own ranges, so Msingi starts from common ones and the school sets its own in Settings.
