PLE grading, aggregate and division calculator
Each subject is graded D1 to F9. The four PLE subjects add up to the aggregate, from 4 (the best) to 36, and the aggregate gives the division. Type the marks to work it out.

How it works
The PLE aggregate and divisions, explained
Every subject gets a grade from D1 (Distinction) to F9 (Fail), and each grade is worth its number: D1 is 1, F9 is 9. The aggregate adds up the grades of English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, so 4 is the best possible and lower is better.
The aggregate places the learner in a division: Division 1 for 4 to 12, Division 2 for 13 to 23, Division 3 for 24 to 29, Division 4 for 30 to 34, and Ungraded above that. The divisions are UNEB’s; UNEB does not publish the mark ranges for each grade, so the ranges here are the ones schools commonly use for their own exams.
How is the PLE aggregate calculated?
Add up the grade numbers of the four PLE subjects: English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. D1 counts as 1 and F9 as 9, so four distinctions (D1) give the best aggregate, 4.
What aggregate is Division 1?
An aggregate of 4 to 12. Division 2 is 13 to 23, Division 3 is 24 to 29 and Division 4 is 30 to 34.
What if a learner misses a paper?
There is no aggregate, rather than a failing one. Msingi treats a missed paper the same way.
Can I use it for P1 to P3?
In Msingi, lower primary counts English, Mathematics, and Literacy I and II instead. This calculator shows upper primary.
Msingi does this for every learner
Teachers enter marks once. Grades, aggregate, positions and the report card for a whole class come out, the way Uganda schools print them.
