How it works
The UACE points, explained
Each principal subject is graded A (6 points), B (5), C (4), D (3), E (2), O (1) or F (0). The best three principal subjects add up to at most 18 points.
General Paper and a subsidiary subject (Subsidiary ICT or Subsidiary Mathematics) add one point each when passed, bringing the most a learner can score to 20. The points are UNEB’s; the mark ranges are school defaults, since UNEB sets its own cut-offs after marking.
How many points is an A at UACE?
Six. B is 5, C is 4, D is 3, E is 2, O is 1 and F is 0.
What is the highest UACE score?
20 points: three principal subjects at A (18 points), plus a point each for General Paper and the subsidiary.
Do subsidiary subjects count?
Only one point each, when passed, and at most General Paper and one subsidiary.
Is this UNEB’s calculator?
No. It is a free tool by Msingi. University admission also weights subjects in its own way.
Msingi does this for every learner
Teachers enter marks once. Grades, points, positions and the report card for a whole class come out, the way Uganda schools print them.
