How it works
The ZIMSEC O level grading, explained
ZIMSEC reports O level as letters: A, B and C are passes, D and E are below a pass, and U is ungraded. A result is a count of passes rather than a total: five passes including English Language is the usual requirement for A level and for many jobs.
ZIMSEC does not publish fixed mark ranges, so the ones here are the defaults Zimbabwean schools commonly use for their own exams, and a school can change them in Msingi.
What is a pass at ZIMSEC O level?
A, B or C. D and E are below a pass and U is ungraded.
How many O levels do I need?
Usually five passes, including English Language, and Mathematics for many courses.
Are there points at O level?
No. O level is counted in passes. Points are counted at A level.
Is this ZIMSEC’s calculator?
No. It is a free tool by Msingi and cannot predict a ZIMSEC result.
Msingi does this for every learner
Teachers enter marks once. Grades, means, positions and the report card for a whole class come out, the way Zimbabwe schools print them.
