How it works
The WASSCE aggregate, explained
Each subject is graded A1, B2, B3, C4, C5, C6, D7, E8 or F9, and each grade counts as its number. The aggregate adds up six of them: English Language, Core Mathematics, the better of Integrated Science and Social Studies, and the best three electives. Lower is better, and 6 is the best.
WAEC sets its own cut-offs after marking. The mark ranges here are the defaults Ghanaian senior high schools commonly use for their own exams.
How is the WASSCE aggregate calculated?
Add the grade numbers of English Language, Core Mathematics, the better of Integrated Science and Social Studies, and the best three electives.
What is the best WASSCE aggregate?
6, which is A1 in all six subjects that count.
What is a credit?
A1 to C6. Universities usually ask for credits in the core subjects and in the electives for the programme.
Is this WAEC’s calculator?
No. It is a free tool by Msingi and cannot predict a WAEC result.
Msingi does this for every learner
Teachers enter marks once. Grades, aggregate, positions and the report card for a whole class come out, the way Ghana schools print them.
